Okay so the general consensus that I have found is change your mascara out every 3-6 months.  Which, to me, seems like quite a wide timespan.  Personally, I lean more towards the 3 month mark.  I have found that if I hang onto my mascara for too long my eyelashes do not seem to be performing at their utmost potential.  We’ve all seen it … the lady with the lumpy clumpy lashes.  The one we all just want to take a eyelash comb to and rake out the cake.  This is a prime example of someone who is due for some new mascara.  Replacing your mascara every 3 months will help avoid problems of it drying out and becoming chunky.  It will also lessen your chance of it developing bacteria that can lead to irritation and even infection. 

Here are some signs you need to replace your mascara:

If it becomes clumpy

If it appears flaky and dry

If you notice a change in its color

If you notice it has a funky or rancid smell

If you recently had an eye infection (continuing to use it can lead to further infection and contamination)

If the mascara in the tube has come into contact with water (water contains bacteria)

So just like anything else, if you want to continue to get the best results, you must do your part too.  When you purchase a new mascara it is a good idea to mark it on your calendar.  Mark the day you purchased it as well as 3 months later when you plan on buying a new one.  I like to write the purchase date on a sticker and slap it on the side of my mascara so I know for sure wherever I go how long I have until I need a new one.  Hope this helps you  ladies!  Stay healthy!

When people ask me “what do you want for your Birthday?” or “for Christmas?” I don’t usually have anything specific that I want.  I am the type of person who enjoys the giving more than the getting and really just want to continue living a happy life with my wonderful husband and sweet (sometimes naughty) 5 and 9 year old kids.  HOWEVER, this year when my mother in law asked me what I wanted for my Birthday (Dec 16th), I said “I really really want a steam mop”.

4-Rosy Complexion Mist:  I have to admit that I first began using this one because the bottle is so cute.  However. . . I love the way it makes my skin feel.  Also, it you have rosacea this is a little known secret.  Rosewater helps shrink capillaries and helps reduce the redness from a flare up.  I use it under may makeup and mist it on right before I moisturize.  Also I keep one handy for a light mist throughout the day to freshen my makeup.  $15.99 for 4oz.

5-A girl’s gotta wash SLS FREE body wash:  Again I picked this one up because of the packaging.  Can you say “SASSY”.  Even my hubby uses it.  He loves the fresh vanilla mint scent.  Great for shaving legs too!  $12.99

6-Eye Brightener:  Can you say wow!  I was caking on the concealer to hide my baggage.  Now I don’t even use concealer under my eyes.  I dab this on, blend it in with my finger and go right to my foundation.  $15.99

7-High Pigment Lip Paint:  Both the High Pigment Lip Paint shades are bea-uti-ful!  I use Marilyn more often because I wear a lot of red and tend to want to feel super glamorous.  However, Betty is great when I wear fall tones and want a more sophisticated look. $14.99
