I LOVE the new face cream from shea butter(Karite Creme Restorative) and all the other latest ones I've gotten. Those sugar scrubs are AMAZING. And the lips too. Thanks again! Loose Mineral Makeup Ingredients

Research is the first phase of our formulation process. We spend a great deal of time and energy researching and testing our ingredients before they make it into our formulations. We do not test on animals! Our cosmetics do not contain any ingredients that are considered carcinogenic or that can be harmful to our environment. We take great pride in the knowledge that we are providing the best and safest mineral makeup possible. The second phase of our formulation process deals with the qulity of our makeup. This is determined by the ease of application and deliverance onto your skin; how it looks, lasts, and feals when worn. Below we've listed all of the ingredients that can be found in our makeup.
Our loose mineral makeup contains no nano sized particles and is considered a highly safe product as scored by Skin Deep

Boron Nitride: Used in our cosmetics to create a luxurious silky and smooth feel. It gives our makeup a “soft focus” look that minimizes the look of textures like wrinkles, acne, scars etc. It is also used to help minerals adhere to the skin resulting in a makeup with longer staying powder. Boron Nitride is an inert mineral that is safe for the environment as well as the skin.

Titanium Dioxide: An inert, non-toxic mineral used to provide opacity and sunscreen in our makeup. This fine milled mineral powder has a particle measurement less than 2.5 microns, but is NOT considered micronized and thus is not absorbed into the skin and is not considered a carcinogen.

Zinc Oxide: An inert, non-toxic mineral used to provide a sunscreen against ultraviolet lights. This mineral soothes skin irritations such as acne and rosacea and other skin irritations.

Tin Oxide: Description

Corn Starch: Derived from corn. A soft and gentle way to absorb excess oil. So gentle that it is recommended for use on baby’s skin.

Silk Amino Acids: Comes from the discarded cocoon of the silk worm. Used in our cosmetics in the form of a fine powder. Silk gives our makeup that soft texture. Helps balance the Ph of your skin. The Amino Acids found in silk powder, are the building blocks of protein in the skin and are regarded as part of the natural moisturizing factor. This is the closest thing to human skin you’ll find in any cosmetics.

Sericite: : Natural untreated cosmetic mica. It gives our makeup a more natural look and texture. After much research we decided to use this because of the irritation and shine factor in bismuth oxychloride.

Magnesium Stearate: From ester of magnesium and stearic acid (magnesium is a naturally occurring metal, stearic acid is derived from vegetable oil). It provides opacity and texture. It is also used to help minerals adhere to the skin resulting in a makeup with longer staying powder

Iron Oxide: Compounds of iron that is used to safely color cosmetics (Yellow, Brown, Red, Ultramarine Blue).

Mica: : Somewhat shiny silicate minerals. This ingredient is used to add color and luminosity to our cosmetics.

Kaolin Clay: : Is the mildest of all clays. Helps absorb and control the production of excess oil on the skin. Great for sensitive as well as dry skin.

Lauroyl Lysine: An amion acid that helps condition your skin. It is derived from vegatables or nuts. This also helps our makeup adhere to your skin. Giving your makeup longer wear time.

Mineral H2O Ingredients: This is a list of the ingredients found in our H2O Loose Mineral Foundation. Because this formulation includes water as an ingredient, it is necessary that we use the safest preservation system possible.

Aloe Leaf Juice: Taken from the thick clear liquid of the Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Plant. Soothing, calming, and beneficial for all skin types.

Fulvic Acid: A naturally occuring nutrient water chelated from prehistoric plant matter extracted from what is considered to be the best humate deposit on earth. The deposit is the remains of what used to be, at one period in time, an ancient freshwater lake.

Purified Water: Surface water or groundwater, generally municipal water, that has been treated for human consumption by distillation or deionization.

Carbomer: A non toxic gelling agent used to thicken the aloe vera juice in our H2O foundation.

Phenoxyethanol: Phenoxyethynol is created by treating phenol with ethylene oxide in an alkaline medium. Each ingredient individually does not sound great, but when they react it creates a safe and effective preservative. Individually many chemicals may harm you, but together they create a beneficial product. For instance, lye alone is extremely dangerous, but after it reacts with oil and water to create castile soap it is harmless and useful. The MSDS for a pure ingredient can cause undo alarm. But as you consider other ingredients that are widely used and safe in cosmetics you will find that the MSDS sounds alarming for them as well. For instance commonly used ingredients like glycolic acid, lye, citric acid, potassium sorbate and even essential oils have MSDS warnings that could be misunderstood and deemed as too dangerous to use in cosmetics. However, we all know that these ingredients are commonly used in cosmetics and are actually considered safe to use. The MSDS sheet is designed to inform the manufacturer of how to handle the ingredient properly in an undiluted form not in the final form that is used in our products. Found only in some of our "wet" products at less than 1%.

Caprylyl Glycol: Skin-conditioning agent that is plant-derived. Often used as part of a preservative blend with phenoxyethanol. Found only in some of our "wet" products at less than 1%

Potassium Sorbate: Very mild food grade preservative derived from natural fatty acid. Is used to inhibit the growth of mold.
